Alicante Tech Vibes is the city's largest independent meetup for founders and builders. We host regular events (roughly monthly so far) with startup demos, open-mic pitches and structured networking. Beyond our events, the WhatsApp community is active daily — introductions, job posts, co-founder searches, customer leads. Other places that work: coworking spaces like Wayco and Utopicus, the Distrito Digital ecosystem, and founder dinners hosted in the WhatsApp group.

Roughly 40% of our community are working software engineers — from indie hackers shipping side projects to senior ICs at remote-first companies like Stripe, Datadog and Shopify. The fastest path: join the WhatsApp group, introduce yourself with what you're working on, then come to the next meetup. No CV-shopping, no recruiters, just real conversations between people who ship.

Alicante's tech community has grown sharply since 2023, driven by Spain's Digital Nomad Visa and the Beckham Law tax regime. Our meetup alone has 600+ active members across 25+ nationalities. Yes — that's the norm. Roughly half our regulars commute in. Elche is 25 min by car or train, Torrevieja 45 min, Benidorm 50 min via the AP-7 motorway, Dénia and Altea about 1 h. The TRAM Metropolitano connects Alicante directly with Benidorm, Villajoyosa and Altea. Carpools form on the WhatsApp before each edition — drop your location and someone will offer a ride or a return.

Yes. Alcoy has a strong industrial and engineering base with inland builders. Elda hosts founders from the manufacturing and footwear-tech world. Orihuela's vast municipality — from inland cathedrals to coastal golf resorts — sends both founders and remote workers. Members in these cities organize informal coffee meetups between editions, all coordinated in the WhatsApp.

Most editions are at Sausalito Premium Club, Mlle. Levante 6 — 03001 Alicante. It's right on the marina, walking distance from Alicante's main RENFE station and from the TRAM Metropolitano stop, with an open-air terrace overlooking the port. Alicante Tech Vibes was founded by Miguel Rovira in 2026, and he remains the community's organizer today. Yes. Our Women in Tech Networking editions are women-only tardeos for the women of Alicante's tech scene — developers, designers, founders, freelancers, women switching careers into tech or simply curious. The July 2026 edition, hosted by community member Samara Parra at Sausalito Premium Club, brought together 24 attendees. The goal is simple: grow the number of women working in tech on the Costa Blanca. New dates are announced on Meetup and in the WhatsApp group.

We do — in summer the meetup moves to the sand. Our Beach Day at Playa del Postiguet (43 attendees) was a laptop-stays-home hang next to Chiringuito Amor Amar: music, pickup beach volleyball, swims and networking with founders, developers and digital nomads as the sun went down. The next one: Beach Day Hang Out — Saturday, August 8, 2026, 20:00–23:00, on the sand next to Chiringuito Postiguet | Amor Amar. Free, RSVP on Meetup. Absolutely. Tech curiosity is the only requirement — you don't need to know how to code. A good part of the room at any edition is non-technical: marketing, sales and operations people, product managers, designers, lawyers, accountants, students and local business owners who work with tech companies or want to. Tardeos and beach editions in particular are pure networking, no technical talk required.

Start by showing up. The community includes self-taught developers, bootcamp grads and people who switched into tech from hospitality, teaching, logistics and finance — many found their first opportunity through someone they met at an event. Join the WhatsApp, say you're looking to break into tech, and ask questions: members share job openings, junior-friendly roles, bootcamp and course recommendations, and honest advice about the local job market every week.

Both. Demos and the open mic are typically in English (it's the working language for most of our international members), but the hallway track and networking happen in whatever language you and the person you're talking to share. Spanish, English, Catalan, Italian, French — all welcome.
